PD100 First Annual Gala

- Student works show and Awards Ceremony

On December 1, 2023, the PD100 Academy of Art successfully concluded its first annual Gala - student works show and awards ceremony. This ceremony selected 18 award-winning works from over hundreds student entries.

Since its inception, PD100 has been dedicated to the study of art and technology, integrating traditional arts with digital new media and artificial intelligence in teaching. It encourages innovative creation methods and explores various possibilities in the digital age. From traditional art instruction to new media teaching, PD100 offers courses in basic sketching, perspective, color theory, basic painting, sculpting basics, computer 3D modeling and scanning, computer digital sculpture, 3D modeling, computer graphic design and digital painting, original artwork practice, art theory and master classes, museum visits and lectures, Chinese calligraphy, painting, and art interest courses.

The 18 awards established for this event include: Best Drawing Award, Best Watercolor Award, Best Digital Painting Award, Best Oil Painting Award, Best Clay Sculpture Award, Best Digital Sculpture Award, Best Photography Award, Best Creativity Award, Best Short Film, Best 3D Modeling Award, Best 3D Lighting Award, Best 3D Rendering Award, Best Character Design Award, Best Production Design Award, Best Animation Award, Special Encouragement Award, Best Game Design Award, and the special "PD100 Free Heart Award". Apart from the "Freedom of Heart Award" and "Special Encouragement Award," each category had gold, silver, and nominee awards. For this evaluation, we specially invited internationally renowned artists Mr. Yang Shaobin, Mr. Wang Jinsong, and our PD100 teachers to form the jury. After weeks of selection and discussion, we chose our winning works. Additionally, at the ceremony, we invited industry elites from various art fields to present awards to our students.

The entries, all completed by PD100 students in 2023, showcased these young artists and designers' astonishing talent, creativity, imagination, and impressive learning abilities. We are thrilled and proud to have accompanied these children in their growth, from their initial uncertainty to their current free and spontaneous expression. It's worth mentioning that due to the limited number of awards, many excellent nominated works unfortunately did not win. These unselected gems also demonstrated the children's extraordinary skills.

The 2023 celebration and award ceremony were not only a summary and display of PD100's teaching achievements over the year but also hoped to create an opportunity for the children to communicate and learn, while also thanking the support and encouragement from students' parents, friends, and experts from various fields.

PD100 is more than an art academy; it is a harmonious space filled with free discussion and creative atmosphere. We cherish the close "mentor and friend" relationship with our students and the "freedom in creation and spirit" art philosophy we have long advocated. We are immensely grateful to the students and parents who have accompanied PD100 on this journey. With your recognition and support, PD100 will enter a broader space and a brighter future.
